High blood pressure, also termed as hypertension, is considered a silent killer. More often than not, people have hypertension without showing any apparent symptoms. If a person has hypertension, this must be lowered or it can be fatal. What are the different high blood pressure cures?
Diuretics are known as the first-line of treatment for high blood pressure. Diuretics function in lowering blood pressure by flushing out the excess water and salt in the body by urination. On the other hand, the use of diuretics can result to different side effects like skin rash, fever, dehydration, blurred vision, dizziness, muscle cramps, extreme tiredness, abnormal heart rate, frequent urination, and others.
Another treatment for high blood pressure is through the use of ACE or angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors. Blood pressure is reduced by ACE inhibitors by blood vessel dilation which increases blood flow. The side effects of ACE inhibitors include cough, skin rash, salty or metallic taste, sore throat, fever, swelling of neck or face, kidney failure, severe vomiting, diarrhea, and many more.
Another type of drugs used to treat hypertension are angiotensin II receptor blockers or ARBs. Through a different mechanism, ARBs can increase blood flow like ACE inhibitors do. These drugs work by blocking angiotensin II which is responsible in narrowing the blood vessels. Since angiotensin II is blocked, blood vessels are widened which result in increased blood flow. Side effects of ARBs include dizziness, diarrhea, muscle cramps, confusion, cough, and many more.
Beta-blockers are another type of drugs used for the treatment of hypertension. With the use of beta-blockers, the effects of adrenaline on the heart are blocked thereby making the heart function with less blood and oxygen. Beta-blockers have side effects like edema, dizziness, depression, fatigue, slow heartbeat, and others.
Calcium channel blockers are also drugs that treat high blood pressure. Through the use of calcium channel blockers, the movement of calcium into the cells of the blood vessels and heart is slowed down. With slowed movement of calcium, there is dilation of the blood vessels as well as efficient pumping for the heart. The side effects of calcium channel blockers include dizziness, dry mouth, edema, headache, nausea, fatigue, skin rash, constipation, diarrhea, and many more.
As you can see, all these medicines used to treat high blood pressure have so many probable side effects. The good news is that there are strategies to treat hypertension which do not cause side effects. Examples of lifestyle changes that can reduce high blood pressure are smoking cessation, proper diet, less alcoholic consumption, and regular exercise. Proper diet in order to lower hypertension means eating more vegetables, fruits, whole-grain products, low-fat dairy products, and fish. Hypertension is also effectively treated with proper exercise which means doing it for 30 to 60 minutes thrice to four times a week.
The fact is these high blood pressure cures are effective in treating hypertension minus the side effects. You must utilize these natural treatment methods for hypertension.
Indeed, high blood pressure can be reduced by using natural cures without the side effects. Try the various high blood pressure cures and experience the rewards yourself.
